Flexible Style With Contact Lenses
When it comes to your vision care solution, we offer a variety of options to give our patients flexibility. We love the stylish selection of prescription frames and sunglasses that we offer, but we know that you may want to embrace a different option depending on your mood and lifestyle.
Contact lenses are a great choice for those who like to stay active or those who prefer the look and feel of a bare face. Contacts are also great for glasses wearers who want to switch up their look every now and then.

Request AppointmentContact Lens Exam vs. Eye Exam: What’s the Difference?
A contact lens exam is similar to a comprehensive eye exam, except that it includes a few additional tests in order to evaluate and fit a person for contact lenses. A contact lens exam is essential if you are interested in contacts to properly measure and fit your eye shape as well as evaluate your contact lens prescription, which can differ from your frame prescription.
Why Are Contact Lens Exams & Fittings Important?
A contact lens exam and fitting are so important in the contact lens process. Firstly, you will need to be evaluated to see if you may be a good candidate for contacts. For example, those with dry eyes or with certain eye conditions or diseases may not find wearing contact lenses for an extended period of time comfortable.
If the type of contact lens is not correct for your eye shape or vision needs, or if the lens has not been properly fitted to the curvature of your cornea, the contact can cause discomfort or problems seeing clearly.
What Contact Lens Type Is Best for You?
At Eclectic Eyewear, we not only offer a variety of beautiful frames but also a range of different types of contact lenses depending on your unique vision needs.
Everyone’s eyes are different in size, shape, curvature, and prescription, and contacts are not a one-size-fits-all solution. This is why we offer a large range of contact options to assist with common vision problems and different lifestyles.
Aspheric
Aspheric contact lenses are a type of multi-focal lens that focuses distance viewing in the center of the lens and near and center viewing in the outer rings of the lens. This provides a gradual transition much like a progressive lens on a pair of glasses.
Toric
Toric contact lenses are specifically designed for those with astigmatism, which is a condition in which your vision becomes blurry due to a refractive error. Toric contact lenses are soft and have and bend the light in the eye differently to assist with astigmatism.
Spherical
Spherical contact lenses are seen as your standard contact lenses in that there is only one prescription to correct either near or farsightedness. It has a curved shape and can correct a few different vision conditions, such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and presbyopia (farsightedness that can occur due to age).
Multifocal
Multifocal contact lenses have 2 or more different prescriptions in the lens to help you see objects both near and far clearer. Multifocal lenses can come in both soft and rigid gas-permeable varieties and are ideal for treating those who have presbyopia and need prescriptions for both close-up objects as well as distance.
Daily Disposable
A daily disposable contact lens is a soft contact that is meant to be used once and then disposed of. These contacts tend to be very comfortable and should be removed before sleeping each night with a new pair put in each day.
Rigid Gas Permeable
Rigid gas Permeable contact lenses are sturdy, durable, and develop less build-up over time. They are a firmer lens but soften up over time. Rigid Gas Permeable lenses are porous enough to allow oxygen through and sit a bit closer to the eye.
What to Expect During Your Contact Lens Exam
During your contact lens exam, you can expect us to take the same level of care and attention that we do with all of our comprehensive eye exams. Firstly, we will test your visual acuity for refractive errors to see what needs to be corrected.
Next, we’ll measure the curvature of the cornea, the size of the pupil and iris, and an evaluation of the eye’s surface and tear film. This helps us find the proper fit and determine which type of lenses would be comfortable for you.
Finally, we discuss the different types of contact lens options you have and help you choose a type that is right for your needs. You can then order your contacts.
Find Out If You Are A Candidate For Contacts
Contact lenses can change the way you see the world around you and provide flexibility in your style. Since each contact lens type is different, it is important that you book a contact lens exam and fitting in order to find the right lens for you and one that fits the surface of your eye properly.
